T1 CONSTRUCTION
All T1 X-series boards are made in a MONOCOQUE DOUBLE SANDWICH construction.
By doubling the sandwich material in the rail area, the construction brings an extreme stiffness and increased internal strength of our boards. Integral with the Complete Mould
Processing (CMP), the Monocoque double sandwich construction respects the original shape with an unmatched precision.
The RS-series boards are also made in the above Monocoque Double Sandwich construction but have a Full Carbon lay-up. The use of Carbon ensures an unmatched weight/stiffness ratio
and will boost your performance on the speed track.
THOMMEN1 and Quality
All T1 boards are built in the Mangusta factory in Tunis. This factory is the home base of AHD & Quattro, for years known as brands with high quality products.
In 2003 they have moved their Swiss precision production to Tunis so they can dedicate more time to the products. Before a T1 board is delivered to your shop, a team of dedicated
Swiss and Tunisian workers has made sure it is finished according to our demanding standards.
Mangusta’s flexible production is unique in the industry and avoids long delivery dates or over stocking which can devalue the product. All of these precautions guarantee that
your board maintains an excellent resale price from the day of purchase.
High tech moulding technology
The construction of moulds plays a very important part in the respect of the original hull shape. Built in a specific area of the factory, our moulding systems are the most
Hi-Tech part of our production. They are constructed directly from the best test board approved on the water by Peter Thommen & our highly qualified testers Bjorn and Peter.
Successive laminations of the glass and carbon fibres within our regulation system (blending at 65c) guarantees the exact replica of the original shape from the first to the last
board made.
The best available construction materials
The factory is supplied by the world’s leading composite industries for the epoxy resins, carbon pre-preg cloths, glass fibres, aramides, PVC sandwich foams, polystyrenes,
etc... This is the only way to build boards according the highest quality standard. The close collaboration with these European companies, who are in turn associated with the
aeronautical and space industries, has proven to be a major asset. This relationship that has been continuously developed over the years has allowed Mangusta to develop products
specific to our requirements, withstanding the rough conditions a windsurfing board encounters in it’s life.
Quality as a standard!
Without a perfectly mastered construction process, the highest quality raw materials are worthless. The CFAO construction site, which shapes foam slabs and PVC sandwich
plates, as well as our exclusive epoxy pre-preg system, are unique tools in the windsurf industry. They give a definitive advantage in terms of precision and in respect of
quality.
